Be a friend!

Dear friends!

Pilot TV tries its best to cover interesting and important events in general and private aviation. But the Earth is too big and there will always be something that will elude our attention. And if you witness something and want to tell about it to the aviation fans or just filmed an interesting video, show it on Pilot TV.
Which topics are of interest? Aviation! Get the viewers acquainted with airfields and landing sites, the work and news of flight clubs, show interesting and beautiful flights.
Performed a first flight on your own? Flew a new plane? Saw an interesting DIY-aircraft? Built and certified a landing site? Mastered new maintenance and repair methods? Own a flying boat? A ski-equipped plane? And so on and so forth...
You can even become a regional Pilot TV reporter - it is quite easy and very interesting. To make the process of sending your information to Pilot TV easier we composed this manual.

Main Recommendations
To make your video a proper TV news item you should follow several golden rules of TV-news making. What does a usual video item consist of? It comprises two parts: the video itself and a textual description in a separate file. The description will become the plan for the editor and the base for the voice-over.
The golden rule of making a video is the "Five W-Rule". The five Ws are the five main questions that are covered by the video:
What?
Who?
Where?
When?
Why?
So, your video should answer the following questions:
1. What's happening (happened/will happen)?
2. Who and how participates in the event?
3. Where the event takes place?
4. When is it happening/did it happen/ will it happen?
5. And the main question: why and what for is it happening?
The reasons, the consequences, the background. Everything that makes sense.
If the video features an interview - it is necessary to point out the full name, position, workplace and aviation occupation (cadet, private pilot, flight instructor etc.)
While filming an interview it is preferable that the interviewee looked at you and not into the camera. If possible, do not set the camera against the sun. Don't use zoom-ins and zoom-outs too often, try to setup the picture in advance. Try to make general plans, give some space to the object and you'll get a perfect video! What is important - the video should maximally depict what is given in the text file. Please mention only those details and nuances that are depicted in the video. The length should be no more than 5 minutes, try to make a short 3-4 min clip. If for some reasons your video is longer, point out the most important fragments in the text using the per-second timing. For example: 1:32-1:54, 3:08-4:25.
